The Theme: To highlight integration between testbeds, track past integration efforts and identify more ways to share knowledge across the entire BIRN landscape.

The Goal: Assess the progress made in the last year on integration issues identified at the last AHM. Chairs of the Working Groups would set the schedule, agendas, including what break out sessions are needed. Chairs would be responsible for overall identification and development of deliverables, with specific dates, for the next year.

TRAINING, POSTERS AND TUTORIALS

There will be a separate room open and available to all those attending the All Hands Meeting for a variety of educational and training opportunities including:

  • Displays of posters so attendees can browse at their leisure to see the science their colleagues are doing.
  • Portal training.
  • GridSphere training.
  • Work Group training sessions.
  • Working lunches or social hours.
  • The BIRN Coordinating Center will be responsible for set up and operation of this room.

Two PowerPoint templates are available, depending on your needs, to aid in assembling conference presentations.


HOTEL RESERVATIONS

A block of hotel rooms are being held at the  Marriott Bethesda Hotel, 5151 Pooks Hill Road, Bethesda, Maryland at the BIRN group rate of $195/night.  Reservations by attendees must be received on or before Friday, September 21, 2007 to receive the BIRN group rate. Thereafter, reservations will be taken on a space and rate availability basis. This rate is also available two days prior to the meeting event and two days after.

Reservations can be made by calling the hotel directly at (301) 897-9400 or by calling Marriott reservations at (800) 228-9290.  Travelers will need to reference BIRN All Hands Meeting to receive the group rate. Travelers can check in starting at 4:00 PM.
