Describing Your Data
For the next stage of the submission process, the data is described in more detail to establish the minimum associated metadata necessary to make the data meaningful to the public, suggest usage recommendations or requirements, and declare whether or not the data pertains to human subjects’ protection policies.
The submission process may be followed by either the original contributor or the specified Primary Contact. That is, you may allow another individual to complete the submission process through his/her BDR Portal Account. This shared project will be available for access to both individuals.
Structured BDR Portal pages allow you to provide details related to the data to be shared, including:
- Investigators, contributors, and affiliations,
- Sponsors, funding sources, and grant numbers,
- Associated figure and caption,
- Citations/publications related to the data,
- Declaration of data as human or non-human,
- Data types (e.g., MRI imaging, cognitive measures),
- Image types (e.g., Anatomical MR, Functional MR, Diffusion, Microscopy),
- Data information to create a sufficiently specific and meaningful description of the shared data (e.g., number of cases, species, sex, and age range),
- Diagnostic groups or disease models represented in sample,
- Technical contacts,
- Any usage recommendations or requirements (e.g., recommended tools, system requirements, or additional materials that may be useful).
